a) the rally itself - a week to drive from Miami to Ibiza? That's a serious undertaking!
b) the beauty of these supercars. I particularly enjoyed all the wrapping of the cars and all the crazy additions people add to their vehicles. The matte purple Bentley was up there as a favourite for me.
But. And there is a big but. I will never get excited in the same way as all the serious car fanatics. I just don't get it... And that's fine, a lot of people don't get this whole dining out malarky, and aren't huge foodies. Talking of food, let's get on to the main event. After a lot of car looking at, we were peckish. Walking from Golden Square, we stumbled across a Bill's, and our decision for dinner was made for us.
Both of us ummed and ahhed a wee bit but went for the same option: halloumi and hummus burger, £8.95. Halloumi - one of my faves. Hummus - divine. Roasted red pepper - give me twenty. Fries - who doesn't like fries?! Overall, clearly, it was going to be the fucking one.
Plus, although service is included (and, needless to say, this makes me really angry), this time I didn't really mind because the service was really good. The woman who greeted us gave us a really nice seat by the window, so we could see the supercars going by, when there were other less appealing tables she could have given us. And everyone was serving with a smile, which was lovely.
Strolling back up Regent's Street to wave in those who were still passing through the checkpoint, we meandered home, feeling very content after a day well spent. ACE.
